Since 1997, the first year of Custom Resources, LLC, Tara Richardson, owner, has been developing resources for marketing and business educators.  The goal was, and still is to provide teachers with unique products, saving them time and ultimately helping students learn marketing & business concepts.

Currently, the company has two primary divisions: educational and fundraising. Through the educational division, Custom Resources offers the time-saving and innovative resources to help the marketing and business teacher or his/her students who need competitive event preparation. Custom Resources, LLC is community-minded as well and members of the Custom Resources' team volunteer time to serve local organizations with leadership activities or judging for various events at all levels of competition.

A teacher from 1992-96, Tara Richardson, was awarded for her dedication to marketing education. Her awards and educational credentials inspired her and prepared her to pursue her vision of developing innovative resources for education.

In 1998, Heather Davis joined Custom Resources. Heather was a student in the marketing and business education program of Tara's. She was quite successful academically and also as a DECA member, taking 2nd place at ICDC with her "Giving Back Is Where It's At" community service project. Heather is the Director of Sales and initiated the fundraising division of Custom Resources Fundraising. She works with groups of all types nationwide helping them fundraise the money they need to help pay for competition, travel, uniforms, equipment, and other expenses. 

As Custom Resources continues to develop time-saving and innovative resources, the company offers work experience to many students and contracted researchers and developers. Most employees, either full- or part-time have been or are current members of DECA or FBLA!
